Still calendar bugs in SP2???

R

Rich Roller

Just wondering if anyone has experienced continued calendar bugs even after
applying SP2 for Outlook 2003?

I've been noticing some very wierd behavior... like I can't recall seing in
the 10 years that I've been using Outlook.

Today for example, an appointment I had put in this morning just
mysteriously disappeared. And right around the time of that appointment I
also noticed a duplicate appointment. I am 100% certain that I did not
delete the 1st and did not create a dup of the 2nd.

This is scary because I (along w/ so many others) rely on Outlook's calendar
to be rock solid. I track my billable hours (e.g. my income source) with
it!!

A few weeks ago I applied SP2, partly because of some reports about
appointments disappearing. Now after having applied SP2 I've just
experienced one myself!

Note: My calendar is server-based (not PST-based) and it's on Exchange 2003.

One more thing: I'm using Cached Exchange Mode, primarily because
RPC-over-HTTP seems to require it.

Hi Milly,

No I'm not... I wish it were that simple.

I have had reports from several Blackberry users of similar problems but it
seemed more related to meeting invitation/requests. In my case, my
appointments are from direct data entry into my own calendar, i.e. New
Appointment.

Nope, I'm the only one editing my calendar.

And to reiterate I'm NOT using Blackberry, GoodLink or anything similar.
Just old-fashioned MAPI client to Exchange server. Very rarely even use
OWA.

The setup is:
Outlook 2003 SP2, running RPC-over-HTTP (thus Cached Exchange Mode)
Exchange 2003 (not sure what SP... it's an Exchange hosting company)

I've heard about some debug logging mode for Outlook but apparently the log
files aren't user readable, they have to be sent back to MS. Plus there's
some disclaimer about this mode taking a lot of system resources.

Any good ideas for how to troubleshoot?

Or heard of other cases of missing/duplicate calendar items in scenarios
like mine??
