status bar

My status bar (Word 2003) shows some items, like column, but does not show AT
or LN. How can I activate these items? My previous version (Word 98) showed
these automatically; they disappeared when I installed Word 2003.

These are not displayed when you have "Draft font" enabled (Tools | Options
| View) or background repagination disabled (Tools | Options | General).

Thank You. I enabled background repagination, and that did the trick. I wonder why I could not find that answer in any manuals or by other searches. Grateful for your response.
