Status bar missing

Can anyone tell me how to get the status bar back, it's
missing from the bottom of my browser. I installed SP1
and some critical patches and now the status bar is gone.

Did you look to see if your browser window is MAXIMIZED?
This is common. If you maximize the window the status bar
is there...assuming that View, Status Bar is already
checked.
