Upon startup I am presented with a selector menu... Windows XP Home Edition
or Windows XP Setup. If the Home Edition isn't selected then it wants the XP
CD and wants to install or upgrade. (note: I had quit the install process, it
started from the CD and I hit Quit install - nothing had started installing).

Is there a Folder/file somewhere that has this startup item for the "Windows
Setup" that can be deleted?

Microsoft Windows XP Setup Remains in Boot.ini
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827324

If you find it a bit difficult to follow the instructions just paste the
contents of the boot.ini file here and someone will tell you which
entries to remove and how to edit the default= line.
