startup prob with monitor.sys

Hi, I have a ASUS P5W with XT300 card running a 1707 UltraSharp from Dell,
and currenlty having problems starting up. When it is time for monitor to
flicker resolution change, it often never comes back on. Here is the boot
log...

"Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\monitor.sys"

And then freezes.

Any ideas?

this is the link to 1707 monitor x64 vista rtm or if you need x32 it should
be in drivers for Dell Precision WorkStation 690

Thanks - started'up 4 times with no probs. I guess DVI connector = (Digital
Driver) and VGA connector = (Analog Driver).
