startup menu lost

I have somehow lost my startup menu that appears on the
left bottom hand corner of screen. I have tried
unsuccessfully to get it back. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!How do I
get it back
 
Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to
Item No. 195 (right column), click on "Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar".

Install the registry fix, then reboot your computer.
