The following errror shows up in the Event Log every time I restart:
Soure ACPI
Event ID 6
Details: IRQARB:ACPI Bios does not contain and IRQ for the device in PCI
slot 12, function O. Please contact system vendor for tech support (Note:
Vendor Tech support is absolutely useless. They were of no help)
There does not seem to be any problems, but this Error is bugging me. Any
help would be appreciated.

This error message may occur on a computer that uses a Peripheral
Component Interconnect (PCI) bridge that supports message-signaled
interrupts but does not support line-based interrupts.

You might try moving the card to another slot.

Thank You for your help. The info is greatly appreciated.

I too am getting this message. I have had my Inspiron 1501 for over a year
now with no issues and now I am geting this same one. What is strange to me
though is that it is not allowing me to log onto my amin account but it is
letting me log onto my guest account. I can also end up logging onto my
admin account if in safe mode....

Here is the exact line in the event viewer:
IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain IRQ for the device in PCI slot 6,
function 0. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance

but also....

The same event also happens but with slot 5.

Your suggestion to Ward was to change the slot...or something like that. Is
this an actual, physical object that I would have to open my laptop to
change?
