Startup Error

I just ran a window's update and am now getting this
error when starting my computer. XP will not load, just
this error. "windows nt has not found enough extended
memory"

Any ideas!?

Run a viral scan.
Then check the extended memory settings through
DOS.

thanks for the info. could you give me the basics on how
to run a viral scan if I can't load XP. How do I boot to
dos and run extented memory settings? Sorry for my
ignorance, but it's been a while since I've used dos ;-)
