StartMenu Shortcuts

I'm missing the shortcuts in the Startmenu. I just can tell that in german:
If you press the Windows-Key and Then "Y" (S&Ystemsteuerung = Control Panel),
then the Control Panel pops up, same for "D" for Printers. You can see that
because the chars are underlined in the Menu. It seems that this isnt there
in vista anymore. If I want to open the control panel without using the
mouse, i will have to press: Windows-Key, Tag, C,C,C, Enter ... ?

I take from this post that you don't see some of the start menu entries you
were used to seeing in XP. One factor might be that you need to allow
smaller icons by right clicking the start button>Properties>Start
Menu>Customize. You also may want to increase the number of programs on the
start menu.

Anything you mentioned can quickly be reach by typing the word or words in
the search box above start.

There are also run box shortcuts you can search for on the web for XP that
work sometimes in Vista --there aren't many lists of shortcuts for Vista yet
in one place on the web.

Get into the habit of typing the component's name in the search box you want
to use if you don't have a shortcut dragged to the desktop or to the start
menu when you get it.

Good luck,

No that wasnt what I was talking about.

(German install:)
In XP, if you Press Start-Key, then "Y" the Control Panel appears
("S&ystemsteuerung").
If you press Start-Key, then "D" the Printers Dialog appers ("&Drucker")

If i do that in Vista, it just types the "Y" into the search box ...

So every script, that uses those shortcuts to open something will fail,
because nothing will be opened ...

I have Control Panel on my Start Menu on the right side at the top of the
bottom section. It's also near the bottom of the Navigation Pane in Windows
Explorer.
