Starting an XP GUI on a specific display

If a windows XP computer has multiple displays, how can I run a
Windows GUI program automatically on a specific display? I dont want
to have to manually start the GUI program, and then drag it to the
correct display - I just want to specify which program I want to run
on each display, either from a command file or from the "Start-
Programs->Startup" folder; or any other automatic method you can
think of.

Thanks!

A lot depends on how your multiple display is set up. If you are using
windows's own native multiple display system then the displays are just one
very large desktop. However, some graphics card vendors provide their own
multiple display drivers that define the displays as 'primary' and
'secondary'.

On my dual display setup (which is the latter type), all windows open on
whichever display they were last closed from. Should that display (usually
the secondary) be disabled they open on the other display. Opening any new
window, it always opens on the primary display.

OK, so there is no "generic" XP way of specifying a particular display
(since it is just one big desktop)? I have the X-windows model of
setting the "DISPLAY" environment variable, before invoking an X-
windows program, in mind.

Can you recall any of the graphics card vendors that provide multiple
display drivers (as you mentioned)?

The only one I know about for sure is ATI (as that is what mine is).
However, I am aware that there others that do. I know Intel provide a
similar scheme but only because the overpaid clowns that set this machine up
managed to convince the graphics driver that it is running a triple head
graphics card (is there such a thing?) when in fact it's a standard single
head.
