Have searched for the answers to this question but no
luck. Is there a way that you can keep sooo many
programs from starting at the same time you start up your
computer? It seems like it takes forever for everyting
to appear on my desktop and I can start working on the
computer. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello!
you can easily diable the unnecessary start up programs by
going to:-
Start >Run >type msconfig >ok
Now in the System Configuration Utility window click the
Start up tab and uncheck those applications which you don't
need during Windows start up.Apply them and reboot.

On each program you don't want to start automatically, check its
Options to see if it has the choice not to start. Many can easily
and best be stopped that way. If that doesn't work, run MSCONFIG
from the Start | Run line, and on the Startup tab, uncheck the
programs you don't want to start automatically.

My view is different. It shouldn't be a case of how many there
are, or how long it takes for them to start. It should be a cse
of evaluating each of these programs to determine whether they do
anything worthwhile for you. If having the program running is
valuable (for example, I certianly wouldn't recommend being
without an anti-virus program or a firewall), then you should
keep it; if it doesn't do anything you want done, then get rid of
it as above.
