Start up problem..

When I switch on I get 2 options offered:

1.Do you want windows setup
2. windows home.

Why does it offer these options rather than a straight reboot.Only happened
today on a friends pc that I was repairing.
Thanks in advance.

If the screen is similar to a dual boot menu, this usually appears when XP
is already installed (Windows Home choice) and there was a failed attempt
at reinstalling XP (Setup choice). The second choice usually indicates
there is an incomplete second Windows folder somewhere on the system
(unless they deleted it before you saw the system firsthand).
