start up folder

I would like to clear out the startup area in msconfig. I have disabled
quite a few items over the years and I would like to "empty out the unused "
items

The Startup tab of the System Configuraion Utility was designed for diagnostic testing. To permanently prevent a program from starting with Windows, follow these steps:

1. Open the program and look through its menus until you find the option to prevent it from starting with Windows.
2. Remove the program's shortcut from the Startup folder.
3. Contact the program's technical support.
4. Uninstall the program.

link..I've used it several times and have had much success.
