Start Up Errors

Hi, I am getting the error WINDOWS COULD NOT START BECAUSE THE FOLLOWING FILE
IS MISSING OR CORRUPT C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM. Can I replace the
file from recovery consol, I have the disk however I don't know the extract
command and cant find it on the web site
