Start>Settings>Control Panel: Sort is biffed

Using Windows XP Pro, classic start menu. For the last week or so, when I go
to Start>Settings>Control Panel (which is expanded to show all items), my
sort order is not alphabetic.

I do not have the ability to right mouse click and sort it. I cannot go to
the actual control panel and have the sort that I pick there be the same that
is used in the pop out menus. I cannot go to the control panel in Explorer
and successfully sort alphabetically either.

I have no idea why it changed...any idea on how to get it to sort alpha?

Same as your MULTIPOST in microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment

If your right click menu is missing in the Start Menu...

XP Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button | Advanced tab |
Scroll down to and Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
Click OK | Click OK

Classic Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button |
Scroll down to and Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
Click OK | Click OK

Enable dragging and dropping
[[Prevents users from using the drag-and-drop method to reorder or remove
items on the Start menu. Also, this entry removes context menus from the
Start Menu.]]
