Start / Search hangs

When clicking on Start, then Search, the PC locks up - on pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Delete, the explorer.exe process is taking upi 99% of the CPU - the
PC needs to be rebooted
Have done the reinstall of Search - same thing happens
Running in Safe Mode, Search functions normally - what should be done?
