How do I get Run to keep what I type in the drop-down window, such as
"msconfig?" Every time I open Run they're gone!

Have you installed TweakUI on your computer? If so, run the
program and click on Explorer in the left hand column. In the
right hand pane, remove the check mark next to "Clear document
history on exit".
