hi gurus

I would like to know the process of the following:

I am the process of setting up OL2007, I exported pst file from my old
computer , right now I am in the process of importing everything to my new
computer with OL2007( the old computer had OL2002), if something goes wrong
how can I start all over on my OL2007 new machine, like no setup has ever
been ran.

Thanks gurus

All advice on this and all the other Outlook groups says "DO NOT USE THE
IMPORT/EXPORT FUNCTION" to transfer data from one Outlook to another.

Importing an entire PST may well corrupt your profile and may create a ghost
PST that you can't close. Importing PST's will lose:
1. Custom Forms
2. Custom Views
3. Connections between contacts and activities
4. Received dates on mail
5. Birthdays and anniversaries in calendar
6. Journal connections
7. Distribution Lists

Opening a PST file will preserve all of these. That is why we do not advise
people to import a native file into Outlook.

You can recreate your mail profile then;
Control Panel-> Mail
See http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm for more details.

Instead of exporting your pst-file simply copy the original to your new
computer and instead of importing it simply connect to it by File-> Open->
Outlook Data File...
After that I would advise you to move the items from the old pst-file to the
new one as Outlook 2007 uses a different pst-filestructure than Outlook
2002.
