I have lost my taskbar @ the bottom of my screen that shows my status, Start,
clock, and whatever I may have open. Tried several ways of reestablishing but
just can't get there. Can someone tell me the path to restore?

The Task Bar is resizable like a window. It's possible that it may have been
resized to zero lines high. Try putting the cursor on the very bottom of the
screen and moving it up and down slightly until it turns into a two-headed
arrow. When it does, drag it back up to the size you want.

If that doesn't work, it may be zero lines and also have been moved to
another side of the screen. Try the same thing on all four sides of the
screen

If you can't get it back from any of the four sides, this tool should fix
it: Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!
