Start menu/sub menus do not show

I don't know what happened but when I click start/all programs/select a
folder, the sub menus do not show. This worked earlier today. Any ideas on
a fix for this.

That is not related to OP problem in any way...

And Almostsane1, try Changing your Start menu to CLassic
