Start menu problem

When I click on "Start" "Settings" "Task Bar and Start Menu" "Start Menu"
"Customize" "Advanced" I am taken to a Start Menu folder in the Documents
and Settings folder in Windows Explorer. However, this is NOT the Start
Menu folder that corresponds with the actual Start Menu. The actual Start
Menu folder is elsewhere in the Documents and Settings folder. How can I
change the folder to which I am sent to the correct one?

The start menu folder exists in two places. Documents and Settings\<your username>\Start Menu and Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu. The Start Menu properties opens in the context of who invoked the wizard, so it takes you to your Start Menu folder. This is by design. The only way to change it would be to use TweakUI to change the location of your Start Menu folder (My Computer, Special Folders) to match the location you want it to open in.

TweakUI for Windows XP can be downloaded from:

1) - Right-click [Start] button
Click | Explore
- this will open the "Start Menu" folder for the current user.

2) - Right-click [Start] button again, but this time
Click | Explore All Users
- this will open the "Start Menu" folder for all users.
