Start Menu displays only in Classic style

Whether I select Classic or Start Menu (the standard XP
look), the Start Menu displays only in the classic style.
Anyone know how to repair this so that I can get the XP
style start menu back??

Hi,

Right Click on task bar and select properties.
Select Start Menu
Select Start menu option to get the default view.

This should solve the issue.

Thanks for replying but therein lies the problem. I've
done that but the classic view remains.???

I don't know the cause but I have found the issue...in my
Display Properties, Appearance dialog box, the Windows XP
Style option is not present in the Windows and buttons
drop down box.??

Doug - Update

For anyone who experiences a loss of the XP Start Menu
theme (as I did), it can be restored by starting the
Themes service and then opening the luna.theme file
(located in the Windows/Resources/Themes folder) and then
saving the luna.theme as a new theme (same folder).
