Why not use openoffice - same stuff (developed from same source code),
newer, also freeware. StarOffice 5.2 is old, 6 is payable.

Because some people still need or use StarOffice 5.2 and there have
been requests from time to time. :)

That's true. Even i have a copy of it just in case...
But from i've heard, OpenOffice is totally compatible with Star Office and
it's still being developed, which means that old bugs are removed, added new
functions (and new bugs :)), so still stands: why not try it?

true. BUT :)
Since StarOffice stopped at 5.2 and OpenOffice will continue from here
on out and if following the current trend, it will require a more
powerful machine, more hardware, more RAM, etc. while one will already
be able to run SO52 anyways, er, right? ;->

Wouldn't the same logic apply to OpenOffice?. You could conceivably
DL OpenOffice now, at its current development state, try it, find
you like it, and just stick with that version no matter how closely
OpenOffice follows said trend. Right?

Could be...i'm not that close to it, but i assume you're right. :)
