Hi!
I have a laptop running Windows XP Home Edition.
When I try to put in into standby mode (Start | Turn off Computer |
Standbay) - nothing happens and I usually have to select the cancel
option.
If I press <Fn> + <Esc> which was always the way I used for putting it
in standby - that no longer works.
Similarly, if I leave it with the lid shut (for eaxmple, it was left
with the lid shut for three hours last night) it doesn't go into
stanndby mode.
The power settings are that it should go into standby mode:
after 25 mins with mains power
after 10 mins with battery power
when the lid is shut
I don't think it has anything to do with the power options, I haven't
installed any software since it was last known to work, there are no
viruses (NAV system scan conducted once per week) my only suspicion is a
Windows update might have had an effect.
(just as a bit of further information - hibernate is diabled.)
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Martin
