Standby shortcut on desktop?

Hello

I am running XP Pro SP2 on a laptop. How can I create a shortcut for the
standby mode (start, turn off computer, stand by) that I could place in the
Quick Launch bar or on the desktop?

I tried that and the laptop hibernates. I am looking to put it in sleep
mode. Any idea how we could do this?
 
I have the same question, but adding one more, how can I create a single
shortcut that logs me off and puts WinXP standing by? Thanks in advance!
