I can not make Standby work with XP Home. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Rusty

I can manually make my computer go into standby. What I can not do is have
my computer go into standby after a certain time. It stays on.

I have Home XP. Power schemes are set for Presentation, 20 min, 1 hr.
then never for both standby and hibernate. When I know I'll be away
from the desk for a while I use the start menu and click standby.
However, that 20 minute option is a darned good imitation when I don't
return as soon as expected (I see no difference at all).

You might try setting your screensavers to none.
