can i change the standard pc( in device manager ) to update driver to load
an acpi compliant driver to correct power down issue

to change to the acpi from standard PC, a repair install
of windows would be required

will automatically load acpi Assuming the PC IS ACPI
COMPLIANT.

update the BIOS before hand.

Your computer may not be ACPI compliant.
