Hi --
I oversee about 30 PCs at 14 locations. I would like to create a common
desktop platform so that each computer has Windows XP Pro SP2, Acrobat
Reader 8, MSN Messenger 8.1, WinZip 11, IE 6 and Microsoft Office 2003.
As these computers are located across multiple locations I am looking for a
utility to create a CD rather than a server-based system. Can anyone provide
some advice on the best way to create a system disk?
Additionally, I have set up all these PCs to have a "restricted" user
account, however, occasionally the users have been able to install some apps
such as Yahoo messenger, etc. which I don't want them to be able to do.
Conversely, I WOULD like the user to be able to install upgrades to the
standard apps listed above. Can I configure this in the Group Policy? And if
so, can I make that group policy configuration part of the standard CD
install?
Finally, I would ideally like to limit users ability to go to specific sites
such as MySpace, Friendster, etc. Is this best accomplished through some
manipulation of either group policy or the Windows Firewall?
Thanks all for your help!
