after about a months time of using windows xp i have
found that when i go to turn my computer off, all i can
do is either shut down or restart, i cant stand by, how
do i get stand by back? where did it go? what happened??

Hi Darcy,

Loss of the standby function is usually due to a noncompliant driver being
installed. One or more of yours may need updating. However, as you only
recently lost the function, it is possible that you updated one and it
doesn't support standby. If this is the case, you need to rollback to the
previous version by using the rollback driver feature in device manager.

Rick-

I really hope you ARE an XP nutcase! My standyby is funky,too. When
attempting to go into standby I get one of 2 things; the computer goes
to standyby and immediately wakes up again or it goes into standby and
is unable to woke up (locked up).

I saw your message about drivers being a problem in this area. Is
there a way to easily narrow down which driver is causing the problem
other than the hunt and peck method?
