On start-up, I am getting the following error message after initial boot-up
as the settings for a user are being loaded: "Windows cannot find
C:\Windows\System32\srxTitan.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and
then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click
Search."

I have not been able to find any reference to srxTitan on any of the
anti-virus websites and nothing turns up on a search of the Microsoft
website, but a lot of the highjack logs seem to show this file in other
peoples' computers. It is clearly no longer in my computer but I neither
loaded it or deleted it (that I know of).

I have two questions:
1. Does anybody know anything about this file?
2. Assuming it has no good purpose, how do I go about deleting any reference
to it in my boo up sequence so Windows stops looking for it?

Hi

Have a look in msconfig>startup. If the file is referenced there, uncheck
it and reboot your system.

to remove it from your startup, go to start->run->msconfig and go to
the startup tab and remove the check mark so that it does not start up.

to delete the entire entry, go to start->run->regedit..then navigate
the folder tree HKLM (Local
Machine)->Software->Microsoft->Windows->Current Version->Run. On the
right pane you should see the entry for srxTitan.exe, and you can
delete that string.

also at the same time to delete any other instances of this file search
the registry for any other instances so that it prevents future
problems

hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. I found srxtray.exe in Startup. I haven't found
anything corresponding to srxtray in HKEY but will keep looking.
