SRV records

Very strange. I have a few Windows XP systems that show up
in DNS with _ldap srv records?! They are listed right
along with my W2k DCs. What on earth could have caused
this. I intend to delete the records but I would like to
know how this happened in the first place. Any ideas?

I don't see how that could happen unless you had a DC that had the same name
as the xp client? If the client did register these records in DNS then it
would have to have a netlogon.dns file in \winnt\system32\config\. That
would have to be there in order for the netlogon service to register the
SRVrecords in DNS.

Believe it or not all of the suspect XP boxes have
netlogon.dns files in the config dir. I have no idea how
this happened. The naming convention for DCs and clients
is totally different so names could not have been reused.
Has anyone esle seen this behavior?
