squashing text to left margin

Have a user that when they print or make a change to a document the font all
piles on top of eachother on the left side of the document.

Is this a print driver issue or word issue ? Or something else.

It's a printer driver issue. The cause is not entirely known, but changing
the printer to another and then back again seems to clear it, at least
temporarily.

I'm having the same issue, but only with labels. But my users have seen this
problem on different PC's, and with different printers selected.

Part of the problem in addressing a firm fix for this 'squished' or 'squashed' text issue

has been that folks who report seeing it, rarely come back with
any additional information on what worked when it went away

It's apparently a glitch that involves Word temp files that causes
Word 2003 to lose track of the printer it's supposed to be
using (as listed in File=>Print) and seems to be related to
add-ins and temp files of Word.

Going to File=>Print and
changing the printer to another one (and back)
will often clear it temporarily,
*BUT* before doing that
or switching the font **please** let us know what happens if,
when you see the problem on the screen you

1. Close Word.
2. Cleanup and delete all left over
Word temp files using Start=>Search and the
search string of
~$*.*;*.tmp

3. Restart Word and open the same document you were
working on.

Once I see the problem again we will try the following

1. Close Word.
2. Cleanup and delete all left over
Word temp files using Start=>Search and the
search string of
~$*.*;*.tmp

3. Restart Word and open the same document you were
working on.

If that works do we do this every time we have this issue ? or will this
permatly fix the issue.
