SQL Server and MS VS 2003 ADO.Net

I have downloaded SQL Server MSDE. I am trying to create a data adapter and a
connection object. The server explorer shows the SQL Server with the pubs
database loaded. When I drag the adapter onto the form the wizard starts.
Thing is on the connections tab the fields are blank. Supposedly the database
and server should be listed on the tab and recognised by my computer. I have
tried the other adapters. Is the reason the this is so is because of a
security issue? I have managed to get one of the data walkthroughs to work,
so I am sure that the data in the database is there. Help! Thanks.

Instead of placing a dataadapter on form, try drag&drop of a table from
server explorer.
