=SQL.REQUEST()

There used to be a function (in Excel 2002 with an addin) called
=SQL.REQUEST().

i believe this no longers exists in Excel 2003(!). Does anyone know of
an equivalent function or is it always the VBA route?

AFAIK, the add-in you recall is "xlodbc.xla" distributed in versions 5, 95, 97 and 2000
(2002 ane beyond no more includes this -and ohers- add-ins), see:
