Jim

I just recently began getting a ton of pop-ups.
Previously i didn't get any. Also when I open up google
and perform a search I get redirected to other sites. Is
this a form of spyware, or a parasite? If so is there any
software that you would recommend to help alleviate this
problem.

PS: about a week ago my norton autoprotect caught a
trojan virus and said it was eliminated. could this also
be a cause.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like adware. Extremely annoying, whether or
not it really harms your computer.

Spyware sits very quietly and tracks things, whether it's
a cookie that tells sites where you've been, or little
things that track your keystrokes, looking for nice
little passwords and credit-card numbers.

Viruses are pretty much just there for damage. They're
there because some retard just wants to make your life
miserable. ******s... anyway.

I'm pretty sure that the best solution is Norton
Antivirus 2004, which actually protects against all that
wonderful... stuff.

You can also use adaware, which is buyable, or free. I'm
not sure what you miss with the free version, but free is
good.

or updated spybot at safer-networking.org and immunize
and etc. also use firefox browser from mozilla.org and
stop using that insecure piece o crap internet exploder.
firefox has popup blocker ad blocker and lots of little
goodies and does not support active x or browser hijacks.
ie still needs to be used for windows updates.
