Spyware

I need help! I got a message saying that I had spyware on my computer (it
took over my computer desktop background). I downloaded adware, removed the
spyware, and the message on my desktop did not go way. I tried deleting the
file that the message originated from but now my desktop is just white. What
can I do?

can u be more specifc which file / application is displaying this alert.
there are many adwares and malwares that make u click popups in the same
manner! so careful!
