Have about:blank on my computer and have tried 4 or 5
programs to get rid of it, including microsoft's beta
version, unable to get rid of it at this time. anybody

Download Adaware and try, about:blank is a real pain.

Download Hijack this and use that to remove
about:blank...or you can just change your homepage

Interestingly. the beta version has a way of removing about:blank and
installing another opening page. They suggest www.msn.com but you can use
another.

As for me I have always used about:blank as my opening page.
And not as a virus.
