A little balloon would pop up in my task bar saying my security was not up to date, about a wk or two ago, the balloon switched to saying my norton was not up to date.

It is a shame that Symantec, Ewido and SpySweeper do not get rid of this nastie ... it is a common Trojan. :rolleyes:

Search your HD for SpywareFalcon ... you'll actually find it in C:\Program Files\SpyFalcon ... delete that folder.

Still a no go, I did what you said, and when I rebooted, it was back. I did a search on my hd, didn't find anything. I searched the registry, and found it under hkey current user/software/microsoft/search assistant/ACMru/5603.

I have deleted this before

It is also under
hkey local machine/software/microsoft/shared tools/msconfig/startupreg/spyfalcon

as well as...

hkey local machine/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run.

My registry is like a big piece of swiss cheese!!!:(

Open My Computer
Click the Tools menue
Click Folder Options
Click the View tab
Click Show Hidden Files and Folders
Unclick Hide protected operating system files
Click OK

Now, go and see if this sh1t is there ... C:\Program Files\SpyFalcon\SpyFalcon.exe ... and delete it.

Again, get HJT to "fix" ...

Yeah no kidding!!! I've done the folder unhide thing before, still not there. It's weird, cuz when I look at the log, and the stuff in my registry, it says that spyfalcon is in PROGRAM FILES. But when I look, it's not. I even looked in safe mode, and it's not there. Any other ideas?
