spybot

Hi Folks,

Is anyone having trouble with "spybot s & d" locking up windows xp
when looking for new updates. I am running version 1.2 with windows xp
home. When I go after update the system locks up and I can't use task
manager to end the program. I have to reboot to get out of the lock
up. Has anyone seen this or have any advice???



Remove "NOT" from email address to reply via email"

if spybot has update trouble, you use a different update
site. and the task manager should stop it without a reboot.
been reading on their site that they have been having
denial of service attacks too from the spyware/ spam
jackoff's.
 
Gee, I got an update for version 1.2 a few days ago. I also
just checked, and it took about 3 seconds (dial-up) to say
there are no updates at this time. Didn't lock-up anything.

No mention of a beta 1.3 at
http://safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download


| 1.2 doesn't work for the updates anymore, you need to get
the new version

When spybot has an update there servers are overloaded

(a very poplar program)just wait and it will download if
given time.

Yeah that solved my problem. went to a different update site.
