Spybot S&D Updates

Spybot Search & Destroy has updated
Latest detection updated: 2007-05-30

This is one of those updates that will shutdown the program, open and close
a command prompt window, and restart the program so don't panic.

Tested on my work machine at 10:26am Chicago Time.
No apparent false alarms.

I cannot test for the false positives that I found at home (concerning
SuperAntiSpyware cookies and bookmarks) in the last three updates till I get
home.

Your mileage may vary.

Hi Tim,

I just did a manual update on my Spybot, but when I click Help | About it
says the latest definitions are from 5-23-2007.

Additionally, when I did download the updated files that were found, I did
NOT get a shutdown of the program, opening and closing of a command prompt
window, and restarting of the program.

This is kind of weird.

Alan,

If you did not get the "Detection updates 2007-05-30" it is unlikely that
you would have gone thru the shutdown/restart routine. The component that
does this is not updated as frequently as the rest of the detections. I think
it's some sort of "Advanced something library".

I just checked my setup, it is:
Latest Detection update: 2007-05-30

If you go do the site:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

you will see that the latest updates available for manual download and
install are:
====
Detection updates 2007-05-30 - product description
md5: 10B0DDC96CD93EBC0313566572DA839B

This updates the detection rules. Only needed if you do not want to use the
update function integrated into Spybot-S&D.
====

So I don't know why you are not getting them.

Strange,
?:-(
