Hi!

Go to Settings>Control Panel>Printers
2. Locate pending print que under the documents column.
3. Double click on printer to pull up spool que.
4. Right click on first job and select cancel.

This should cancel the hung print job and free up the CPU.

Update the printer driver.
Check the system with latest virus definitioned antivirus.

i have a laptop with a new xp install and i have noticed a large amount of
cpu usage. the culprit seems to be a program called spoolsrv32.exe. a
google search for this term returns an astonishingly small number of results
(3-4!!!). my friend who has xp as well says on his computer the closest
match is called spoolsv.exe.

because of spoolsrv32.exe's cpu usage, the fact that i cannot connect to the
internet without allowing this program access and mysteriousness of it, i am
worried about possible virus. a check says my system is clean.

any suggestions appreciated

you are true
