Windows-XP Home OEM (Dell) with all the latest updates.
Printer-1 Is a 3 year old Brother Laser.
Printer-2 Is a Canon color ink jet.
It does NOT matter which printer is set to "Default".
Bug observations:
Quicken 2000 flickers every 5-7 seconds and resets the cursor all the way back to the first (date) field Col 1 no matter
what field I am keying.
Microsoft Access Flickers every 5-7 seconds but does not resets the cursor.
Microsoft Word does not get affected.
Microsoft Excel flickers but does not rest the cursor.
Front Page 2003 is not affected.
Dreamweaver is not affected.
Outlook and Thunderbird are not affected.
I have not tested all my applications... probably does not matter.
After two days of intense try this and that...
I have discovered that stopping the Print Spooler service (spoolv.exe) stops the problem.
The spooler only causes the symptom when I configure the Brother Print driver to "Print direct to printer".
The problem does not occur if I do the same change to the other printer driver (Canon ink jet).
I downloaded the latest Brother Printer driver; no difference.
The problem does not exist when I boot into Windows 2000 partition.
The problem does not exist when I boot into Windows 2000 partition!
The Windows 2000 driver and XP driver is the same.
My pleas for help in some web based discussions have not drawn any responses to my question... Where is the best news
group or discussion group for me to take this problem?
