Spontaneus reboot when I change LPT settings

When I try to change the settings for LPT in the device
mgr from "never use IRQ" to "use assigned IRQ" the system
spontaneously reboots. When the system comes back on, it
is still at it's original setting. Any suggestions or
help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Please don't double post. It just takes up time for others that need help also.

It's okay...
No harm done
But some come in a panic and post in a panic and the care givers in here try their best to
get to everyone.
