Splitting db & security

I have a db that I need to put on the shared drive for
multiple users. My question is should I split the db
before or after I go thru the security steps?

It's your choice. If you secure first, don't use the database splitter to
split your database, as the backend will not be secure (you'll have to
resecure it).

If you split first, you'll need to secure both databases.
