Hello,
I have to make a big spreadsheet. I would like to be able to split cells thus:
so for each unit you may have 8 pieces of info, if you make the cells very large you can fit all the info in but i don't know how to wrap the text by pressing a button (i.e i would like to start a new line inside the cell but pressing 'enter' just moves me to the next cell). So i would ideally like to split 1 cell into say 8 rows and then press enter to seperate info and thus making it easier if i want to count a certain type of info.

unit info
91001 hi
hey
ho
92001
91003
92003
etc.
is this possible?

if not and i have lots of pieces of info within one cell, i.e hi, hey, ho, who, ah, argghhhh is it possible to count the number of 'hi's in the column 'info' ?

please help with both questions. i'm hoping that the answer will not be that i must just add 8 rows for every category.

To simply wrap text Format, cells, alignment (tab), wrap

If you want to rewrap text to a larger column width, first widen
your column with wrapped cells and then narrow to width that you
actually want.

Alt+Enter gets you an automatic wrap text, but gives you
control of where you want to split lines within a cell.
