Splitting cells

I have two sets of data that i would like to put in one
cell. Is there anyway i can split the cell diagonally and
have one data set above the diagonal line and one below?

x/y
1/2
3/4
5/6

something like that?

THANKS A LOT

One way I've seen this being done before is to enter the two digits in two
cells, one above the other. Left align the top one and right align the
bottom. Adjust the width/height to suit. Colour the cells white and draw a
diagonal line using the drawing toolbar.

Hope this helps.

One possible way

in a third column

=A1&"/"&B1

copy down as long as needed

adapt to fit your cell ranges

note that this will be text values and not fractions

Andy, That seems to work out. Another problem is that i
have a total of six columns, and i only want 3 of those
columns to have the split data in them. I want everything
to fit on one printed page and was wondering if there was
a way of adding cells only to three columns of my table
without throwing the entire table format off. Right now
if i add a cell then 3 of the 6 columns get longer than
the others....any thoughts? Thanks again.

It's difficult to say without seeing your particular sheet. You should be
able to work around this by merging the corresponding rows on the adjacent
columns into one cell per column. Merging is to be avoided, in the main, but
if it sorts out your problem then use it.

Andy.

. . .Also, changing the font size of your fraction to 6 or 7 might help the
situation.
