How do you get the split window view of the MyComputer window when you click
on MyComputer?

If I do a key combination (MS symbol next to the Ctrl key and E), I get the
MyComputer with the left pane displaying the Folders and shares and the
right pane shows the content of the folder selected.

If you click on the MyComputer Icon, you get only one pane.

Is there a way to say always show both panes?

Or is there an option once the window is open to say show both panes (tree
and folder content)?

Thanks,

Tom

Surf to your Control Panel and then to Folder Options.
Select the 'File Types' tab at the top.
Click the bar above the names in the list to sort them alphabetically.
Scroll down to 'FOLDER'. . . _not_ File Folder!!!
Select it and then click on the 'Advanced' button towards the bottom.
In the window select 'Explore' and then click on the 'Set As Default'
button towards the right. Then just OK your way out of there. You
should then be good to go.

Perfect.

Exactly what I needed.

In my VPN, I can't use my keyboard to open the Explorer Window, I don't know
how else to open it other then MyComputer.

Not sure why that isn't the default.

Thanks,

Tom
