Split screen sort of?

I have a client that would like to have two tables on the
same sheet. The tables are located vertically, not
horizontally, affecting column widths and not rows. The
client has found a couple of workarounds for this, but
both are labor intensive and not very convenient when
trying to compare data among cells. She'd like to know
if there is a feature to handle this. This is excel 2002.

Thanks.

Carla, no such feature. A column can't be one width in one place and another
in another. If your client likes to see datasets stacked one on top of the
other, she might consider putting the datasets on separate sheets, opening
the workbook in a second window (Window > New Window), and tiling the
windows of the active workbook horizontally (Window > Arrange > Horizontally
(Windows of Active Workbook) > OK. Then she can display the datasets from
the two sheets one on top of the other as if they were on the same sheet. If
she saves the workbook and closes it, it will open in the split screen view
next time.

Maybe she could use Window|New window and have two windows to the same
worksheet.

Then she could scroll each independently.

She'll see things like:

book1.xls:1 and book1.xls:2 in the title bar.

It's not two copies of the same workbook open--it's just two windows. When
she's tired of this, tell her to click on the window she wants to close and hit
ctrl-W (and maybe save???).
