Split Monitors for PP2000

P

Peter McCartney

Hello! Thanking anyone for a reply. PP2000

At the moment our powerpoint presentations are run from a desk top computer
(not laptop) through to a lightpro to the classroom whiteboard. There is no
monitor for the desk top computer.

Q. Can I run the powerpoint to the lightpro and a monitor, and have them
run at the same time. So the monitor mounted in the podium can be used by
the instructor to view his lectures notes that are contained in the
powerpoint presentation.

I have been told it is only possible to do this utilising a laptop.

Q. If I can do it with a desktop computer what do I need and what do I
have to purchase to acheive this.

Thanking you for your time.

To do this properly

You need a little magic box.......

such as the RGBHV Distribution Amplifiers
on this page
http://www.tvone.com/signalpage.shtml

or this product
http://www.altinex.com/Products/Distribution_Amplifiers/DA1907SX/DA1907SX.htm

and most of these products
http://www.altinex.com/Products/Distribution_Amplifiers/Distribution_Amplifiers.htm

They basically take a signal (your output from your computer) and split it
into more "outputs".

If the distances are really short, you can get buy with a Y-split cable,
that simply splits your output into 2.... but can cause problems with loss
of brightness etc.

Another cheap alternative is to (and this depends on your LightPro) run a
cable from the "output" of the projector (most projectors have an In and an
Out).

Be sure to be "low loss" cables to avoid sync and brightness problems.
