split database

While splitting the databse into BE/FE I get the following errors during the
process:

subscript out of range
invalid procedure call or argument

The wizard just stops then I have to cancel out of the process. It seems to
create a BE file on the server but the FE does not seem to be any different
before splitting. There are no links to the new BE.

The DB was compacted before the split was tried.

Any ideas?

Just split it manually. Create a copy of your database and put it on the
server. Open it and delete all objects except the tables. Open your
original database and delete the tables/relationships in it. Then go to
File, Get External Data, Link Tables and locate the backend (if you use
network neighbourhood, it'll use UNC pathnames). Select all your tables and
link.
